Dental health is an important part of everyone’s health. Problems stemming from the mouth and surrounding facial region can have major effects on the overall health and well-being of a person. Seeing a dentist with extensive expertise in the field and up-to-date dental technology is key to receiving the best dental health care. It may enhance your quality of life more than you think.
Take it from this Fern Creek Dentistry patient — Mrs. Heyne suffered for over a decade with a sinus issue that stemmed from a dental procedure from an implant office. Fern Creek Dentistry was able to diagnose the problem and fix the issue, restoring her quality of life.
Here is her story:
After seeing a few implantologists, Heyne, finally got an implant that would help her, or so she thought. The implantologist used a cadaver bone to assist with the implant because the patient didn’t have enough bone to support the implant. Not long after the procedure, she began to suffer from major sinus issues: constant runny nose, severe headache, drainage issues, difficult breathing and more.
More doctors, more procedures, more medicine
Heyne visited an ear, nose and throat (ENT) doctor for treatment. The ENT performed a multitude of surgeries to treat her severe sinus issues. She had two turbinate reduction surgeries, a laser reduction of her palette surgery, she had her tonsils removed and more. Additionally, she was getting two allergy shots a week. Nothing was working.
Heyne suffered with these severe sinus issues for 15 years. She was losing hope. She felt like she had tried everything. She even stopped all the medications to see if they were helping more than she thought, but nothing changed. The medications weren’t helping at all.
Finally, a life-changing solution
Heyne switched to Fern Creek Dentistry for her normal, dental health check-up and cleaning. During her first exam with Fern Creek Dentistry, the office took a digital panoramic X-ray.
While reviewing the X-ray, Dr. Patel noticed her implants were placed too high into her sinuses. Dr. Patel asked her if she was experiencing any sinus issues, and, of course, she responded, yes. He found the problem, and more importantly, he knew how to fix it.
Fern Creek Dentistry was able to help Heyne with the use of up-to-date technology and proficiency in the field. Dr. Patel was able to successfully remove the implant, and Heyne was able to breathe normally again. All her sinus issues vanished. “He healed me,” Heyne said.
Fern Creek Dentistry’s doctors and support team focuses on furthering their education to stay on top of all new procedures and available technology in the field. This focus is key in making sure all their patients get the best dental care available.
“It was awesome that I found (you all), for Dr. Patel to give me answers and take care of a problem,” Heyne said. She emphasized that finding healing was an entirely new concept for her, and she was so grateful. “Anyone I know that needs a dentist, I will be sending them here.”
